Common
questions about handmade soap;

Is there lye in this soap? Yes, there is lye in absolutely all
soap. Once it blends and reacts (saponification) with the oil molecules it is no longer lye, it becomes soap and
is completely skin safe after a curing period of 4-6 weeks.
2. Why
not just buy regular old soap from the store? There are chemicals added
to commercial soaps to make the bars harder, cheaper to make, ect. Companies are not required to list the ingredients
on the label. These may irritate your skin and cause dryness as well as unknown reactions. Often they also remove the moisturizing
glycerine that is a natural by product in the soap making process and use it to make more expensive products. The truth is
that most of the "soap" people buy is not soap at all but is a detergent bar.

What is the shelf life of this soap? Once the oils and lye mix together
they become a completely different product so oils are no longer oils and the lye is no longer lye. These soaps will
still be good practically indefinitely. In fact, the longer they sit the more mild they become, so a couple of months on the
shelf is a good thing and they will still be great years from now.
4.
Will it last long in the shower? Handmade soap will last a good long time as long as you don't leave it where
it will sit in water or where the shower runs/drips on it. Put your soap above & away from the shower nozzle.
Remember that you should treat it a little differently because it is not filled with chemical hardeners.
5. Is this soap just for your hands? No,
this soap is great from head to toe. Yes, I said head, I have even used it on my hair with great results. Your skin is your
largest organ and absorbs at least a small amount from the things that you put on it as well as from our enviroment.
